Darden Restaurants marketing strategy and financial analysis

Darden restaurant has its headquarters in orange county Florida. The company was founded in 1938 by Bill Darden. Darden restaurants own various casual dining restaurant chains. It has 2100 restaurants and over 200,000 workers. It serves more than 425 million meals a year, which makes it the largest restaurant in the globe. Darden’s brands include Red Lobster, LongHorn Steakhouse, Yard House, Bahama Breeze, The Capital Grille, Olive Garden, Seasons 52, and Eddie V’s.

In the year 2011 Darden restaurants were ranked 65 in 100 best companies to work for by Fortune 500. Darden restaurant is also ranked 311 in the fortune 500 list. The increase of number of chains indicates Darden’s commitment to retain its position in the Fortune 500 list.

Darden’s Fiscal 2013 Financial Highlights indicates that its operation in 2013 were $8.55 billion compared to $ 8.00 billion in 2012 (6.9% increase). The table below shows the consolidated balance sheet of assets from May 22, 2012 to May 26, 2013 (2013 Annual Report).
