NASA party promises to increase student HELB loan if elected in August


NASA coalition led by party presidential leader Raila Odinga have promised to increase University students HELB loan if elected in the August 2017  general elections.

NASA coalition promise on HELB

 

While speaking in Machakos, Kalonzo Musyoka indicated that they will ensure that the least paid University Student will get Ksh45,000 as HELB LOAN. In addition to increasing HELB loan, it will be mandatory for student from needy backgrounds applying for HELB  loan to be awarded.

 

NASA leaders were moved by a story of a Moi university female student who had to go round doing odd jobs to be in campus (Story available in this page)

University Fee

On University school fees, NASA indicated that  tuition fee will be subsidized too to make it affordable for all.

This is the second major promise NASA has made on the education sector after it pledged in Kakamega county that they will offer free secondary education  from the beginning of September if voted in.
