Comrades of Misery is an investigative story done by Citizen TV journalist Mercy Kandie that reveals the suffering of University students in Campus.  The story focuses on Moi University Main campus but brings out a clear picture of what students from poor backgrounds go through in campus.

Comrades of Misery Story

The story begins by highlighting on a touching story of a lady called Lucy Chebet.  Lucy was born and raised in West Pokot, she passed her  KCSE and joined Moi University under government sponsored hoping to move from a world of poverty but the future seems not to be getting brighter.

 

 

In the story, Lucy says that her father struggles to put food on the table and cannot be able to maintain her campus life. From rent to food expenses.

She was forced to engage in vegetable selling business “Mama Mboga” to maintain her expenses in campus.  Attached below is a Video that reveals the miseries if Lucy.

Mercy Kandie” Comrades of Misery  story also highlights on other students who joined campus from poor backgrounds going through hard times. Some have to do without food for days.  HELB seems not to be a solution as it is not disbursed on time.
