In a statement issued on Friday 23 August 2019, helb has indicated that it will disburse loans to continuing and new students before reopening of schools. The statement is available below.

HELB Loan Disbursement 2019

The Higher Education Loans Board wishes to update as follow regarding application and disbursement status for undergraduate TVET for financial year 2019/2020.

Undergraduate Subsequent Loan applications

As at 21st August 2019, HELB has already disbursed KES 6.7 Billion to 156283 Students which will also help in facilitating their transport back to University after their holidays.

The expected/target number is 171600 application. Therefore we have extended the undergraduate subsequent deadline to 31st August 2019 to allow for the students at home to apply since they are resuming from Monday 26th August 2019. We therefore call upon students who have not applied to urgently do so by 31st August 2019.

Undergraduate First Time applications

As at 21st August 2019 we have so far had 65496 applications. The deadline was extended to 31st August 2019. For those who form have been received, verified,  loan award amounting to KES 3.4 billion are awaiting disbursement just before their official reporting dates in September 2019. We call upon the students who are yet to print and submit their Loan application forms to hasten the process before the closure of the extended deadline of 31st August 2019.

TVET Subsequent Loan application

Helb has so far received 17980 online application out of the expected 43,000. The deadline is 31st October 2019. For students who have already remitted their forms. They will be verified and disbursement for Tuition and upkeep (into their respective bank accounts) of Ksh. 26400 and ksh. 13600 respectively will be done ahead of the opening dates on September 2019. However we note that the number so fat received is less than half of the expected 43,000. We call upon students who are yet to apply, print and submit their loan application forms to hasten the process before the deadline of 31st October 2019.

KMTC Afya Elimu Fund Loan

The Afya  Elimu fund (AEF) loan for KMTC trainees is open  until 31st August 2019 for both continuing students and first time applicants.

    I made an application in a period of February and March 2019,I got awarded the tuition fees and the first installment of sh6800 was disbursed to my account.Till date I haven’t received any notification of 2nd installment disbursement. what might be wrong??

      You need to apply for subsequent loan.
