Music streaming is the in-thing and Safaricom, the leading telecommunications company in Kenya, has jumped into the bandwagon with its own music streaming service named Songa by Safaricom. The Songa App is currently only available on Google Play store which means only Android phones users can take advantage of it. We are informed that they are working on one for Apple’s iOS.

Safaricom is not new on the music subscription industry given it has been providing Skiza, a service where users select a music track as a callback tone to entertain callers.
Songa is a premium subscription service that provides users with access to unlimited on-demand audio and video.
Users will have access to over 2.5 million local and international tracks. Users can stream or download tracks via 2G, 3G and 4G network standards.
Songa allows you to create and save multiple playlists from songs you are streaming or have downloaded from the service. You can even add old songs in your device to the playlists.
Songa by Safaricom Registration
The service is only available to registered users. Registration is a breeze though, all you need to do is provide an email address, phone number, username and password.
Songa by Safaricom Subscription
Songa subscriptions are divided into three categories; daily, weekly and monthly.
For the daily subscription you will pay Ksh 25 and will have unlimited access and streaming of full library.
For the weekly subscription you will pay Ksh 150 and will have unlimited access and streaming of full library. You will also enjoy a 17% discount on the subscription plan.
For the monthly subscription you will pay Ksh 499 and will have access and streaming of the full library. You will also enjoy a 22% discount on the subscription plan.
Safaricom is currently offering free trial of Songa for 14 days.
