Form one students will start reporting for 2022 admission today as parents complain of school fees due to hard economic times.

Form one reporting (2022)
Over 1.2 million KCPE 2021 students are today expected to be admitted to various secondary schools in Kenya. The form ones were supposed to report on May 13, 2022, but the reporting day was postponed by one day to celebrate Eid al Fitr.
Unlike it has been in the past where KCPE exams were released in December and form ones reported in January or February, this year they have been forced to report in mid-year due to changes in the academic calendar.
Short Academic Calendar
It is going to be a busy year for students and teachers as they are supposed to complete the academic year within 8 months (with breaks) instead of 12 months (with breaks). Parents will also have a hard time raising school fees within short timelines.
Aware of the challenges that parents are going to face in raising school fees, Education Ministry CS George Magoha has asked secondary school principals to take caution when listing admission requirements as part of the measures to reduce the cost of education.
214,960 form ones will join extra county schools, 218, 456 county schools, and 726,311 sub-county schools.
Here is the full school year calendar.
