University of Nairobi student organization chair Babu Owino has called for Tuesday and Friday Night protests in the University if the Vice Chancellor Prof. Peter Mbithi is not going to accept dialogue over the stalemate of suspended students (What has come to be known as gizagiza rebellion). His statement read;
“No student should appear before the appeals disciplinary committee until further notice. The Vc and his belly allies can’t proceed suspending comrades whereas the aim of an appeal is to review the previous decision. We will hold demonstrations on Tuesday nights and Friday nights should the Vc refuse to dialogue.”
University of Nairobi had earlier suspended a number of students over protests that took pace after the SONU elections.
