If you want to transfer from one secondary school to another in Kenya, you need a transfer letter from any of the following directors below;

  • If you are transferring from a sub-county school to another, you need a transfer letter from the Sub county director of education.
  • If you are transferring from a county school to another, you need an authorization transfer letter from the county director of education.
  • If you are transferring from one region to another, you need an authorization letter from the regional director of education.
  •  If you are transferring from a national school to another, you need an authorization letter from the director of secondary education.

Other than the transfer letter, you also need a release letter from your former school (the school you want to transfer from) stating your conduct.
