The mobile tech grapevine is abuzz with unconfirmed reports that Vivo is working on an upcoming smartphone that will feature 10GB of RAM.

This will make it the first ever smartphone to have such an an amount of RAM. Most high-end devices currently sport 6GB of RAM, with rare cases having as much as 8GB.

Vivo is known for its ambitious designs such as the recently launched Vivo X20 Plus UD; which features an in-screen fingerprint sensor. ‘

The upcoming smartphone, the Vivo XPlay 7, is also rumoured to have 256GB and 512GB of in-built storage.

Other features include:

• 4K OLED display with 92.9% screen-to-body ratio
• Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 systems-on-chip processor
• Under-display fingerprint sensor
• Dual rear camera with 4x lossles zoom

It is not yet clear when the phone is expected to launch but once it does, Vivo will sure send ripples across the smartphone world and hog headlines a little longer.
