Following the closure of the university of nairobi (UON) after students demonstration due to police brutality, the university has issued fresh re-opening dates for a section of students and campuses. A gazette notice published by the university read;

UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI : INFORMATION TO STAFF AND STUDENTS

Following the closure of the University on 3rd October, 2017, it has been decided that the following groups of students resume their studies with immediate effect:-

1. All Postgraduate students
2. Open and Distance Learning students
3. Students in Mombasa Campus
4. Students in Kisumu Campus
