Statistics of 2018 PLE exams

Below is a summary of information of 2018 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) that was released by Uganda Nation Examinations Board (UNEB).

• 2018 PLE Total registered candidates: 671, 923 of which 346,963 were male and 424960 female.
• UNEB registered an increase in candidature of 3.9% in 2018 as compared to 0.8% in 2017

Performance of 2018 PLE exams

• 1,128 candidates with special needs were registered, of which 46.5% are female and 53.5% are males
• 11% (77,133) of the candidates passed in division one as compared to 9.1% (50,198) in 2017
• Male candidates have performed slightly better than the female candidates
• 13.1% males and 10.5% females passed in division one
• 42.7% males and 40.6% females passed in division two

To get results via SMS;

1. go to message menu,
2. type PLE <Space> Full index number (schools’ number and candidate’s number)
3. send to 6600
