List of Top 100 Most Influential students 2016

Every year Kenyayote.com releases a list of the top 100 most influential students in Kenya. We’ve been doing this for 2 years straight-this will be the 3rd year. Nomination of top 100 influential students was open to the public from December 2015 to February 25thth 2016.

So far, this year we recorded over 10,000 nominations. We also expanded our nomination to include Kenyan students studying abroad and those who recently completed their studies from universities out of Kenya.

How does Kenyayote.com choose the students who make the cut? To be sure, the list of nominated students went to over 10,000 but we scaled down to 100 by taking into consideration those students who received the highest number of nominations and other factors stated below.

The list comprises of students across numerous fields. Criteria used to scale down the list to top 100 after the nomination process include;

  1. What is the social reach or impact of the student?
  2. Does the student have the power to influence students in and out of his or her environs?
  3. Has this student made decisions and taken actions in the past that positively affected the student community?
  4. Has this student demonstrated the ability to influence student opinion within campus?
  5. Has this student been responsible for creating programs, technologies, businesses, etc., that have enhanced the life of the users or consumers?
  6. Has this student launched initiatives in the past that have been particularly impactful for the life of students or nation?
  7. Does this student regularly capture the attention of student and other national decision-makers?
  8. Has the student made any academic achievement that captures a number of his or her peers attention?

Below is a list of who made it to 2016 most influential students in Kenya. While many may not always agree with the list, we can always accept any effort to help make it better come next year.
