2017 Soya Award winners ceremony went down at KICC Nairobi presided by marathon legends Haile Gebrselassie and and Paul Tergat. The best of the best personalities and teams walked away with trophies.
The Soya Awards was founded by Paul Tergat to appreciative the exemplary series of performances in various sports disciplines by Kenya sportsmen and women.

- Sportsman of the Year-Eliud Kipchoge
- Sports Team of the Year-Kenya Sevens
- community service award-Felix Oloo
- Sports Woman of the Year-Nancy Koech
- Sport Man of the year with Disability-Samuel Muchai
- Sports Federation of the Year-Tennis Kenya
- School Coach of the year-Philip Onyango (Kayatuyi High School, Basketball)
- School team of the year Boys – Kamusinga School (Hockey)
- School team of the year girls – Kaya Tiwi (Basketball)
Soya Award ceremony takes place on a yearly basis with the title sponsors being safaricom. It awards sports personalities and teams in different fields. The above performed best in 2016 and their awards were in 2017.
