Latest News: AU Chairperson Elections 2017 winner and results


The African union commission chairperson elections will be going down on 31st January 2017 after they postponed in 2016. There are five candidates lined  and one will emerge the winner.

 

UPDATE: Chad’s Moussa Faki Mahamat (56 years) has emerged the winner and is the new AU chair

Kenya’s Amina Mohamed  came second after round five of voting.

1. Venson-Moitoi (65 years)

Has served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Botswana since 2014
2. Agapito Mba Mokuy (52 years)

Has Served as the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Equatorial Guinea.

3. Ambassador Amina Mohamed (56 years)

She is the foreign affair minister of Kenya.
4. Abdoulaye Bathily (70 years)

He is Diplomat and politician from Senegal
5. Moussa Faki Mahamat (56 years)
Former prime Minister of Chad

Who is likely to be crowned AU Chair winners?
Well, the race is tight. But Kenya’s Ambassador Amina Mohamed has high chances of emerging the winner.
