KU, UON, and KEMU among the top winners of Kenya University Sports that went down

African Nazarene University (ANU) on March 7 -8, 2015 hosted the 4th Edition of the Kenya University Sports Association (KUSA) Women Championship Games. Themed “Make it Happen”, in line with the International Women’s Day celebration, the event attracted over 1000 female students from over 20 Universities who participated in over 16 disciplines of sports.

In true sportsmanship, the ladies battled it out in soccer, hockey volleyball, softball, basketball, netball, handball, badminton, chess, scrabble, table tennis, tennis, taekwondo, karate, athletics and swimming.

The two day event ended on a high with an award ceremony that saw different Universities secure first position and runners up wins for their clinical performance. The day’s wins were as follows:

  1. Soccer – JKUAT (Winner); Kenyatta University (Runners Up)
  2. Softball – KEMU (Winner); Technical University of Kenya (Runners Up)Handball –
  3. Kenyatta University (Winner); Masinde Muliro (Runners Up)
  4. Table Tennis – Kenyatta University (Winner); Strathmore (Runners Up)
  5. Hockey – Strathmore (Winner); USIU (Runners Up)
  6. Scrabble – Masinde Muliro (Winner); Egerton University (Runners Up)
  7. Chess – University of Nairobi (Winner); Masinde Muliro (Runners Up)
  8. Netball – Masinde Muliro (Winner); Kenyatta University (Runners Uo)
  9. Volleyball – St. Paul’s University (Winner); Kenyatta University (Runners Up)
  10. Athletics – Kenyatta University (Winner); Moi University (Runners Up)
  11. Karate – Egerton University (Winner); Masinde Muliro (Runners Up)
  12. Basketball – Zetech University (Winner); USIU (Runners Up)
  13. Takwondo – KEMU (Winner); JKUAT (Runners Up)
  14. Swimming – Kenyatta University (Winner); University of Nairobi (Runners Up)
  15. Tennis – University of Nairobi (Winner); Kenyatta University (Runners Up)

Kenyatta University, University of Nairobi and Kenya Methodist University (KEMU) were the overall winners clinching the winner, 1st Runners Up and 2nd Runners Up positions respectively.
