KNEC: KCPE/KCSE 2021 exam registration deadline extended


Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) through education ministry Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has extended the deadline for registration for KCSE and KCPE 2021 examinations.

KCSE and KCPE 2021 exam registration deadline 

In a statement issued by KNEC on 2nd August 2021, CS Magoha has extended the examination registration deadline to 14 August 2021. The initial examination registration deadline was 31st July 2021. The extension was made to accommodate the thousands of candidates who had not been registered by the close of 31st July 2021.  

By 31st July 2021, a total of 1,218,892 candidates had registered for KCPE examination and 824,392 for KCSE examinations.

Registration Confirmation  

Headteachers and school principals have been asked by KNEC to ensure accuracy of candidate’s name order as they appear in their birth certificate, gender, date of birth, subjects selected, and additional information for candidates with special needs. 

Verification of candidates’ details will begin on 16th August 2021 and end on 27th August 2021.  

How to register for KCSE/KCPE exams 

KCSE and KCPE 2021 registration of candidates procedure is as follows. 

  • Visit KNEC portal: https://www.knec-portal.ac.ke/ 
  • Under primary schools (KCPE) or Secondary Schools (KCSE) 
  • Click Candidates registration 
  • Login with school username and password
