Huawei rose from a small-time electronics manufacturer to rub shoulders with the high and mighty in the extremely competitive smartphone industry.

At one point the Chinese smartphone maker overtook Apple in total devices shipped. Their strength is pegged in making affordable devices with a premium feel.

The Huwei P10 (announced in February, 2017) did not depart from the tradition; it is adorned with specs that rub shoulders with big boys Samsung and Apple while remaining affordable to the masses.

OS and Processor

The P10 runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) layered with Emotion UI 5.1. The processor is an Octa-core (4×2.4GHz Cortex-A73 and 4×1.8GHz Cortex-A53) based on the HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset.

The GPU is a Mali-G71 MP8.

Display

The P10 has a 5.1″ Full HD display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels (432ppi density). The screen is protected by the tough Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

It has a 4GB RAM and internal storage is either 32GB or 64GB.

The P10’s front camera is 8MP, f/1.9. The back camera is dual-lens (12MP+20MP), f/2.2, OIS, Leica Optics, 2x lossless zoom with dual-LED (dual tone) flash.

The back camera is able of recording video at 2160p at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps.

Network and Connectivity

Network connectivity is via GSM, HSPA, and LTE. Connectivity to other devices is via NFC, USB 2.0 Type-C 1.0 reversible connector. Bluetooth 4.2, A2DP, LE. Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual band, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot.
