George Magoha appointed Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) in Reshuffle


Professor George Magoha has been appointed as the Cabinetry Secretary for Education (CS) in New Cabinet Reshuffle done by president Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday 1st March 2019.

Prof George Magoha appointed as Education CS

Professor George Magoha served as the KNEC CEO till 1st March 2019 when he was appointed as the Cabinetry Secretary in the ministry of education in a cabinetry reshuffle done by president Uhuru Kenya through Executive Order no. 3 2019.

Amina Mohamed who is the Education CS till March 2019 has been moved to the Sport ministry formerly headed by Rashid Achesa.

UPDATE (19th March 2019): The Parliamentary Committee on Appointments has approved Prof. George Magoha as Education CS. The committee stated that Prof. Magoha’s academic credentials and experience comply with the Public Appointments Act.

Why Sports CS Rashid Echesa was sacked

The president did not disclose why he decided to sack cabinet CS Rashid Echesa but it might be alluded to the alleged corruption cases pointed to the CS and his continued politicking despite warning from the president
