Moi university is one of those few universities in Africa offering a  Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace and its related courses. Aerospace Engineering degree programme was launched in Moi University in 2008 in partnership with Oklahoma University .
The degree involves studying aerospace technical service management, air security, professional piloting and aerospace logistics.

 

For private sponsored students planing to pursue Professional Pilot Option; a candidate must have a minimum mean grade of C+ (Plus) in KCSE or its equivalent recognized by Moi University senate and have:

C+ (Plus) in Mathematics
C+ (Plus) in Physics
C+ (Plus) in English and
C+ (Plus) in Geography/Chemistry

In 2013, Moi University lowered its tuition fee to ksh. 1.5 million. This means that for  one to pursue a degree related course in aerospace, he or she is required to have a minimum of about ksh.  6 million to push you through  4 years of study.

In 2009, Moi Universality acquired its first six-seater plane from the Ministry of Environment  for training purposes.  Currently Moi university has  a Cessna 303 commercial plane, Cessna 162, Cessna 152, Cessna 182  and a Padinavia aircraft. This brings to a total of 7 planes owned by Moi University for training purposes.
