Yesterday the high court declared former Lugari MP and presidential hopeful Cyrus Jirongo bankrupt after he was unable to pay a Ksh 700 million debt he owed businessman and former associate Sammy Kogo. Strange Object Falls From the Skies in Voi, Scares Residents
On Tuesday morning residents of Marapu village woke to a strange spectacle after a massive balloon crash-landed in the area. At first, villagers thought the loud crashing noise resulted from an invasion of wild animals in the area. It is common for elephants to invade their farms in search of pasture. There was commotion outside the Supreme Court of Kenya yesterday as protestors and police were forced to flee a bee attack. This happened as five judges delivered the full ruling on the nullification of presidential elections, oblivious to the melee going on outside. Chief Justice David Maraga issued a statement this afternoon speaking against attacks on the Judiciary. Maraga noted that some judges have been targeted in what is widely seen as an attempt to intimidate the judiciary. The Chief Justice said while picketing is allowed by the constitution, violence against JSC workers and/or their families will not be tolerated. The country music fraternity is in mourning after it emerged that popular singers of the genre, Don Williams and Troy Gentry had passed on. According to The Guardian, Williams passed on at his home in Atlanta after a short illness. Troy Gentry, half of the popular country music duo, Montgomery Gentry, died after a tragic helicopter crash on Friday. Don Williams was aged 78 while Troy Gentry was 50 at the time of death.
