Family and friends of the late University Of Nairobi’s lecturer, Prof Gilbert Ogutu Achieng will have to be patient for at least three weeks to know the cause of his unexpected death. This is according to Western Region Government Pathologist Dr. Dickson Mchama. Speaking on Monday at Bondo Sub-County Hospital after conducting a post-mortem on the body of the lecturer, Dr. Mchama said samples of body tissues had been taken for further analysis. Deep financial difficulties facing the country’s institutions of higher learning have sent Kenyatta university to seek a commercial loan of Sh450 million from local lenders. In a statement indicated in tender documents, the university states that lenders have up to the second last day of February 2020 to send in their quotation to offer the loan which is repayable in a decade.
