University of Nairobi Opening dates for academic year 2015/2016

1. COMMENCEMENT DATES – 2015/2016 ACADEMIC YEAR
The University of Nairobi wishes to inform the following groups of students (Module I and integrated Module II) (Continuing students) that the commencement dates for the 2015/2016 academic year are as follows:

 
MONDAY, 7TH SEPTEMBER, 2015
(i) 2nd and 4th years in the Faculties of Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine; Schools of The Built Environment, Arts & Design, Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Computing & Informatics, Education.

(ii) 4th years in the Faculty of Arts, Schools of Business, Law, Economics and I.A.G.A.S.
(iii) 2nd years in the College of Health Sciences.
(iv) 5th and 6th years in the Department of Architecture and Building Science.
(v) 5th years in the School of Engineering and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
(vi) 4th years in Biochemistry and Medical Lab. Technology
Note: Reporting dates for the 4th years in Dental Science, Pharmacy, Nursing, M.B.Ch.B. and level V (M.B.Ch.B.) will be announced later.
2. TUITION FEES
(i) ALL MODULE I STUDENTS shall each pay tuition Fees of Kshs. 16,000/= per year, before or on the registration day, made up as follows:
a) Kshs. 8,000/- direct charge for which needy students may apply for a Bursary from Higher Education Loans Board (H.E.L.B.).
b) Kshs. 8000/- for which one may pay direct or apply for a loan from Higher Education Loans Board (H.E.L.B.).
3. OTHER ADDITIONAL RELATED EXPENSES
Examination fees – 3000/- p.a.
Medical fees – 2000/- p.a.
Activity fees – 1000/- p.a.
Computer Laboratory Fees – 3000/- p.a.
Students ID. Card – 500/- p.a.
Students Union Fees – 500/- p.a.

Total: 10,000/-

* SELF-SPONSORED (MODULE II) STUDENTS:
h) Fees is payable in full on or before commencement of each semester. All fees shall be paid by CASH DEPOSIT, EFT or RTGS transfer to UON CESSP collection Account No. 2032771362 at Barclays Bank of Kenya, Plaza branch. Deposits may be made at any Branch of Barclays Bank countrywide.
Students should fill in Bank paying-in slips fully identifying themselves by showing their names and reference numbers, and amounts paid. The original deposit slip should be presented to University officials on registration.
5. ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING
For those students who wish to use the accommodation facilities in the University’s Halls of
Residence, they should apply online.

Cafeteria System) – 18,000.00 p.a.
6. BOOKS
Students are advised to apply for a loan from Higher Education Loans Board if they need it, for up to a
maximum of Kshs. 9,000/- in respect of books and stationery.
7. All students are informed that all fees and other charges are payable at the commencement of the semester they are due. No student shall be allowed into lectures, examinations or participate in activities which have not been fully paid for.
