Top 60 universities  and colleges in Kenya: If you have subscribed to Kenyayote email alerts here, then you might have noticed that at least every month we share information about the top ranked universities and colleges in Kenya and the rankings sometimes differ which raises a lot of criticism. We thought we should explain how this happens.

There are about 3 reliable multinational companies that rank Higher  institutions of learning  in Kenya. These companies are are 4icu, Webometrics and QS World University Rankings. The 3 companies use different methodologies to rank universities and they release there results at different times. One releases its results after 3 months, the other after 6 months and the other after 12 months.

 
The Kenyan college and university rankings differ because the ranking companies are different and use a different approaches of rankings. Because today we are focusing on Webometrics July 2015 results of Kenya universities and colleges  rankings lets also get  to understand  briefly the criteria that it uses to rank higher institutions of learning in Kenya.

 
Webometrics Rankings of Higher Education Institutions is conducted by one of the largest public research organization based  in Spain called “Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC)“. After every six months an independent, free  objective, open scientific research is performed by CSIC to provide information about the performance of universities globally. The top university rankings are based on webometrics data. As much as Kenyayote might agree 100%  with the rankings, they remain to be the most reliable  in the world compared to others.
