University/college Students population in Kenya
Ranking of Universities in Kenya according to student population is among our new series of many other rankings. This kind of ranking is aimed at providing researchers with data to assist them in finding a solution to the accommodation crisis currently facing public and private universities Kenya.
Kenyatta University which currently tops the list has surpassed University of Nairobi and Moi University’s student population. However, Moi University topped the list of government sponsored undergraduate enrollment in 2015. On the other hand, Mount Kenya University (MKU) is the only private university that managed to get into the top 5 list.
Below are the top five universities with the highest student population. The figures were retrieved from past published university audit reports, university newsletters and graduation speeches where the respective university population was quoted.
- Kenyatta University (KU)-70k students
- University of Nairobi (UON)-64k students
- Mount Kenya University (mku)-52k
- Moi University (MOI)-51k students
