Technical university of Kenya (TUK) has been indefinitely closed after students riot which begun on Monday 20th July 2015 entered its third day on Wednesday 22nd, ahead of Barack Obama’s arrival on Friday, 22nd July 2015.
The students were protesting following the accreditation of some engineering courses in Dedan Kimathi, UoN,JUAT and Kenyatta universities by the engineers board leaving out their university.

The closure of the university located in the center of the city came amid fears that the  protests would interfere with Barack Obama’s visit to Kenya.
