StackPath CDN is shutting down

StackPath CDN has announced that it is shutting down its operations on November 22, 2023. In an email sent to customers, the company says that it is shutting down its CDN services to focus on cloud computing.

While the CDN services will be discontinued, the StackPath cloud computing platform will continue its operations as usual.

StackPath’s entry into the CDN services started when it acquired MaxCDN, a prominent CDN services provider at the time, in July 2016. StackPath had acquired MaxCDN to enhance and complement its existing cloud computing products. However, over time, StackPath’s CDN services appear to have encountered challenges in gaining traction among customers. The company was facing competition from other popular CDN service providers like Cloudflare and Amazon Cloudfront.

In the wake of the StackPath content delivery network shutdown, Akamai, which recently bought Linode,  has announced that it has acquired some of  StackPath’s products.

Some of the alternatives of StackPath CDN that you might consider using include Amazon CloudFront, Cloudflare, Google Cloud CDN, and Azure CDN
