“I have today, accompanied by my Cabinet and Members of the County Assembly officiated the disbursement of Ksh 45 million as bursaries for deserving students in both secondary and tertiary institutions at Muumandu shopping centre, Kalama Sub County.

Over 659 secondary schools and 152 colleges will benefit from bursaries that will be channeled directly to the respective learning institutions to ensure accountability.

Apart from bursaries, my government has constructed over 100 early childhood development (ECD) and a further 80 are still under construction. We currently have 996 ECD trained teachers who receive yearly refresher training so as to remain abreast of modern teaching trends.

Our 40 vocational training centers continue to offer FREE skills training like plumbing, masonry, dress making, mechanical engineering among many others. Our youth who do not make it to university, will not remain idle in the villagers to be misused by selfish politicians. Instead, they will earn a good living and uplift themselves and their families quality of life.

So far, over 42,500 students have benefited from my government’s bursaries of over 387 million since 2013. This is a significant amount that has kept many of our students in school.

As a leader who truly appreciates the role of education in the development of the society, I remain committed to develop policies that will align our youth into prosperity, to create wealth for themselves and their families.
