On 4th April2017, news reached us on the cold blood murder of former Kenyatta University student Irene Maitethia in Kahawa Wendani. It is not clear why Irene Maitethia was killed, but according to media reports, her death is allegedly linked to lover.

KU Student Death in Kahawa Wendani

Kahawa Wendani is mostly inhabited by student from Kenyatta University.  Over the past years, there have been demonstrations over the rising cases of insecurity in the area. A number of students have been murdered in Kahawa Wendani under mysterious circumstances.

 

There have been no clear revelations on what exactly causes the deaths. Police Investigation do begin and within some few months they fizzle out.

How safe is your student in Kahawa Wendani

Hardly a week passes without reports of  KU  students staying off-campus having been robbed, or attacked. Kenyatta University has in several occassion through student leaders indicated that they are not responsible for  the security of students who live off campus.  They have however  gone ahead to provide a list of places their students can stay off campus which they say meets their standards.
