You can join now University in Kenya and pursue a degree course if you scored Grade E in your KCSE exams. This is according to CS Amina Mohamed’s directive published in a gazette notice. Below is how Grade E candidates can end pursuing a degree course.

Joining public University in Kenya with Grade E
If you scored Grade E in your KCSE exams and want to join any public university in Kenya and probably end up doing a degree course then it is possible. However, unlike those who cored C+ and above, E students will have have to go through some stages of learning to join university. The stages have been highlighted below.
How to do a degree course with Grade E (Step by step guide)
- Step1: Join a Technical Vocational education and Training Authority (TVETA) and get an Artisan Certificate (takes a period of 6 months) (60 credits)
- STEP2: Join TVETA and do a craft certificate course (takes a period of 1 year) (minimum of 120 credits)
- STEP 3: Join College and do a Diploma course (times varies with college but minimum is 2 years)
- STEP 4: Join University and do a degree (period of study Varies)
- STEP 5: Graduate!
Getting a degree with KCSE Grade E might take you about 10 years but that is the only route you have if you are not willing to repeat.
