Ministry of education has today released a statement highlighting how KCSE 2021 candidates will travel in and out of locked counties.
Traveling of Students amidst locked down
The last paper of KCSE 2021 will be done on 21st April 2021. Other candidates will complete their exams earlier than that.
With the lock down in Nairobi County, Machakos County, Kiambu County, Kajiado County and Nakuru County, schools will have to make special arrangements with parents on how their children will move out and into locked counties.
A statement released by the ministry of education principal secretary Julius Jwan on 9th April 2021 indicates that county commissioners and principals of secondary schools should liaise with traveling companies and organize to have Buses/Nissans/Matatus go and pick students from schools.
On the other hand, schools should be required to issue letter of introduction to students and also contact parents to inform them and make arrangements on how their students will travel.
All students will be required to travel in their official school uniforms so that it can be easy to identify them.
Although the ministry of education did not mention in the statement about students being picked from schools by their parents through private means, parents who have their own private cars and want to pick their children can get in touch with the principal and area police commissioner to be issued with a temporary travel pass.
