The 2017 elections are getting nearer and endorsements have started emerging from student leaders.

It should be noted that students have always played a critical role in national elections as they are an extension of the youth wing.  Politicians like James Orengo, Ababu Namwamba, Kabando Wa Kabando, Isaac Ruto, Anyang’ Nyong’o, Mwandawiro Mghanga, Hassan Omar Hassan, Moses Kajwang, Justin Muturi just to mention a few emerged from student leadership.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has received the support of former SONU Sec Gen Edith Mwirigi. Edith served with Babu Owino who is currently contesting for mp Embakasi East.

A statement shared by Edith Mwirigi read; “Jubilee party has serious mafias from the mountain and rift that are seriously looting the economy. It takes a CORD tyrant like Ali Hassan Joho in 2022 (its too late for CORD to win election in 2017) to end this impunity. Forget the old guards like Kalonzo and Wetangula,. With the mixed feelings that Jubilee members have on Ruto, the opposition has a big chance of democratically taking over the government with the right candidate (Joho)”
