50 Things you should carry During Your First Day of admission

You are about to join campus and you are wondering what you should carry and what you should not carry.  We have compiled a list of 50 Things you should carry during your first day and semester of admission. Some things are meant for males and others for females only.

First year checklist

  1. A duvet and a blanket
  2. Admission or Enrollment documents (for instance, admission letter)
  3. Air freshener
  4. Bank documents
  5. Bar soap
  6. Bath towels
  7. Bathrobe
  8. Belts
  9. Bowl
  10. Bras-for ladies
  11. Casual dresses
  12. Comb
  13. Copy of birth certificate
  14. Copy of educational certificates
  15. Cotton balls
  16. Cups and plates
  17. Desk or laptop computer not must
  18. Drinking mug and glass
  19. Eating utensils
  20. Flashlight /torch
  21. Floss- not a must
  22. Fork and spoon,
  23. Good quality multiplug extension
  24. Hand mirror
  25. Hand towels
  26. Hangers for clothes
  27. Headphones- not a must
  28. Lip balm- not a must
  29. Lotion-not a must
  30. Makeup- not a must
  31. Mattress-a mattress is needed if you are prepared to live out of campus otherwise do not carry one because the university or college will provide one
  32. Nail polish- not a must
  33. National ID
  34. Note book
  35. Padlock
  36. Pants-a number of them
  37. Personal hygiene items (like toothpaste, deodorant, etc…)
  38. Phone charger
  39. Pillowcases
  40. Pillows
  41. Razor
  42. Scissors
  43. Shampoo- not a must
  44. Shower cap for ladies
  45. Throw blanket
  46. Toilet paper
  47. Toothbrush
  48. Toothpaste
  49. Traveling Umbrella
  50. Washing powder

Do not carry raw foods until you have been admitted and confirmed that your university allows cooking in rooms. Most Universities do not permit cooking in hostels.

Another thing to take note of is do not come with your high school uniforms.  They are not necessary at all.
