Eldoret Polytechnic student Mwaniki Ramon was on 25th August 2021 murdered in Cherunya, Langas area on his way to his room.
Mwaniki Ramon murder case
Mwaniki Ramon was a third-year student at Eldoret Polytechnic and had just completed a group discussion at 7: 00 pm to prepare for his final year KNEC exam. As he left the institution to his room, he was met with the murderers at Cherunya who stabbed him several times.
He was rushed to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) where he was declared dead due to severe internal bleeding.
The motive behind his gruesome murder is yet to be known.
Langas Insecurity
Langas, the area where most University and College students reside, has been witnessing rising cases of insecurity. Every month there are cases of either student killed or attacked by gangs.
Langas police have not issued any statement on the case of Mwaniki.
Eldoret Polytechnic students are calling on the police to heighten security in Cherunya especially between the power station and Riverside bridge.
Eldoret Polytechnic and Uasin Gishu county government have also been asked to address the matter of insecurity in Cherunya with the urgency it deserves.
