All previous CPA candidates will be given up to one year to finish the CPA old syllabus. Upon the expiry of one year, students will be required to select a specialisation from among the papers that they will not have passed by that date. What this means is that for the first one year of transition, there will be both new and old syllabus exams

KASNEB new syllabus categorizes CPA papers into 3 main levels. The levels include Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced. In the new syllabus, candidates will also not be allowed to skip papers.The minimum KCSE grade for doing CPA and other KASNEB professional courses is C+ while diploma courses is C-.
