A financial year in Kenya starts on 1st July and ends on 30th June of every year.

This is after the reading of the budget.

Budget reading in Kenya takes place on the Second Thursday of June of every year unless it is an election year.

EAC countries have an agreement where they are required to read their budget the same day.
