  • Availability of water for irrigation from rivers Tigris and Euphrates.
  • Availability of rich fertile soils in the river valleys supported the growth of crops.
  • Invention of farming tools e.g seed drill
  • Availability of indigenous crops for cultivation.
  • Availability of labour to work in the farms.
  • Weather forecasting helped the summaries to plan their farming activities.
  • Availability of storage facilities e.g day/woven vessels
  • Existence of stable which made it possible for farmers to concentrate in farming.
