The window for course selection and application is closed. You can apply next year when the window opens, but only for diploma, and certificate courses.
Inter-institution transfer window is currently closed. You are required to apply for inter-institution transfer when the application window is open. There is also no option to transfer degree to diploma.
It is not free. Government-sponsored students do pay some percentage of school fees depending on the course and level of education. Therefore, being placed by KUCCPS does not mean you are not going to pay anything but the school fee you pay is about a quarter of what private sponsored students pay.

The average amount allocated to each student by the government per academic year is flat rate Ksh. 120,000 (according to Treasury sources). Government sponsored student are required to pay about ksh 16, to 20,000 per semester on top of what the Government pays as capitation.
