How to Apply for Motor Vehicle Inspection through eCitizen

NTSA is responsible for inspecting all public service vehicles (PSV) and commercial vehicles, and issuing certificates (sticker). Below is a guide on how to apply for motor vehicle inspection through the eCitizen portal.

Steps of Applying for Motor Vehicle Inspection on eCitizen

  • Log in to your E-Citizen account.
  • Choose the NTSA service portal (New).
  • Select your motor vehicle and click on “view.”
  • Click on “book now” and choose your preferred inspection center and date.
  • Submit payment for inspection and click on “complete.”
  • Under motor vehicle services, select the inspection type.
  • Click on “complete booking.”
  • Visit the application history to download and print your receipt and booking slip.
  • Bring the booking slip and payment receipt for the inspection.

You can always check the status of your NTSA motor vehicle inspection using the same citizen page.

For archived driving license renewal, present a Copy of your ID and Copy of your DL to the nearest NTSA office or send a request letter via email dlqueries@ntsa.go.ke.

Charges

You will be required to pay a motor vehicle inspection fee of Ksh 1050.
