5500 Students to benefit From Ksh 35 Million Likoni CDF Bursary


Likoni Constituency Member of Parliament Hon. Mishi Mboko yesterday presided over the constituency Bursary Launch ceremony held at Likoni Stadium.

The Historic occasion in the coastal constituency will see over 5000 students benefit from the Sh35 million National Government -CDF kitty. The ceremony was attended by many leaders among them those from the political and education sector.

Hon Mboko who showered praise to the attendees said that the exercise of allocating the bursary was done in an equal and fair manner. She insisted that the NG-CDF office is impartial and does not discriminate anyone as it took responsibility to ensure that information on bursary was well spread in the region.

The Vocal Mp stated that the total amount was shared among the constituents according to the distribution of students. She noted that Timbwani ward is the major beneficiary because of its populous nature.

She told the constituents that Cheques will be distributed either to individuals or in bulk for those to be delivered in the same school. She assured the parents that cheques delivered in bulk will be accompanied by a list that shows the names of those who should benefit from it. Parents can walk into schools and confirm if the funding got to the student account.

Hon Mboko askede parents to always attach the requested documents in their forms before submitting them to ensure that those who benefit are the real occupants of Likoni Constituency because the bursary is meant for students from Likoni only.

She challenged the youths to avoid causing hatred through social media platforms and instead engage themselves in constructive activities that will benefit them and the residents at large. Mboko encouraged them to join the Government TVET institutions where they can learn technical skills within a short period of time and get employed in industries around the coastal region.
