164 students Dormitory at Lenana School razed by fire


Fire engulfed a section of the Lenana School Dormitory along Ngong’ Road in Nairobi on Monday morning.

Kenya Red Cross and emergency response firefighting team are at the scene in Lenana School battling to put the fire out. The fire started at about 8:00 Am Tom Mboya House, a dormitory where hundreds of students reside.

A teacher at the school indicated that no student has been injured or harmed.

The cause of the fire still remains unclear.

The fire has left students’ belongings including clothes, boxes, mattresses, and books destroyed.

The incident comes a few weeks after another inferno engulfed Upper Hill School in Nairobi where the dormitory was razed down. The cause of the fire is still also unclear.
