President Ruto's statement on Job Opportunities Abroad

We have negotiated for opportunities for the export of labor from Kenya. We advertised 2500 nursing positions recently. However, we received only 500 applicants so far. These individuals are expected to earn over Ksh 200,000.

Firstly, the opportunity was advertised in the press. Secondly, I have consistently mentioned these opportunities in various meetings. Despite our efforts, we still need 2000 more nurses.

This is not enough. I have negotiated numerous opportunities for young people in Kenya. Mrs. Principal Secretary Roseline K. Njogu from the State Department for Diaspora Affairs, Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, returned from Germany. We are on the verge of concluding an agreement with the German government for 250,000 job opportunities. They have requested that we finalize the agreement before June.

Similar negotiations are ongoing with various countries. It is crucial for me to address you, leaders, so that you focus your energy in the right direction.
