NSSF on how to pay contributions through eCitizen Platform

NSSF has indicated that members can now pay their monthly contributions through eCitizen platform using the official government paybill 222222. The procedure for making contributions has been provided below;

How to pay NSSF Contribution via eCitizen (self-employed or employer)

Payment procedure for self-employed or voluntary

  • Sign in to ecitizen.go.ke
  • Locate "NSSF" on the Agencies section and click on it to access NSSF Services
  • Select the service "Voluntary Contribution"
  • Enter NSSF Member Number
  • Click "Validate"
  • Enter Amount
  • Click "Make Payment"
  • Select the preferred Payment Mode and follow the instructions given
  • Complete transaction.

For employer;

  • Login into ecitizen.go.ke
  • Locate "NSSF" on the Agencies section and click on it to access NSSF Services
  • Select"Employer Payment"
  • Generate a Unique Payment Number (UPN) from the NSSF E-Service portal
  • Select "Employer Payment"
  • Enter UPN
  • Select the preferred Payment Mode and follow the instructions given
  • Complete transaction.

NSSF Contributions via USSD

For USSD Payment, follow the procedure below;

  • Dial*222#
  • Select on Make Payment
  • Select Option 2 - Enter Service Code
  • Select Option 2 - Enter Service Code
  • Enter NSSFV (self-employed) or NSFFE (employer)
  • Enter Member Number (for self-employed)
  • Enter the Amount to Pay
  • To confirm payment, Select 1
  • Enter MPESA PIN
  • You will receive an MPESA confirmation SMS.

NSSF Members and Employers are further advised to make payments via Paybill as follows:

  • Voluntary Contribution - INSSFV-NSSFNUMBER e.g NSSFV-123456789
  • Employer Contribution- NSSFE-Eslip NUMBER e.g NSSFE- 824001234567

NSSF can receive notification immediately after payment is made. To access NSSF services, visit https://selfservice.nssf.or.ke or https://nssf.or.ke.

In compliance with the Kenya Gazette No. 16008 of 2022 and the Presidential Directive dated June 30, 2023, all other mobile money payment platforms have been discontinued.
