WRC Safari Rally 2024 - Routes and Preparations Update

Organizers of the World Rally Championship's (WRC) Safari Rally Kenya are putting the final touches on preparations for the 2024 edition, scheduled to take place from March 28th to 31st in Nairobi and Naivasha.

In a statement, WRC Safari Rally Kenya CEO Charles Gacheru outlined the key areas of focus leading up to the rally. "Over the past month, we've been concentrating on the essential elements that make the Safari Rally what it is," Gacheru said.

Among the top priorities have been finalizing the rally routes, which will include Malewa, Loldia, Soysambu, Elementaita, Kedong, and Hell's Gate.

Preparations have also extended to the service park, where teams like Hyundai have already begun setting up their operations. Their wrecker vehicles, spare parts, and equipment have arrived, with the competition cars expected to be flown in closer to the event.

Organizers have prepared crucial rally materials, including road books, course signage, and documentation for medical, safety, and media plans. Gacheru assured that all licenses, insurance, and necessary approvals have been secured, including clearances for aircraft that will provide aerial coverage during the stages.

While comprehensive planning is underway, Gacheru urged the public to cooperate by adhering to traffic rules and regulations during the rally period, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in ensuring a successful event.
