MP Salasya Launches KMTC Shianda Campus Kshs. 50 Million Tuition Block Construction

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Shianda campus construction of Kshs. 50 million tuition block has today been launched. The project is financed by the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) for Mumias East.

Mumias East Constituency Member Of Parliament Hon. Peter Salasya, pledged to provide additional support as well. This includes fixing the sewerage system, water supply, and street lights on the campus. "Next week we will meet with my committee to get the resources for this," he stated.

The chairman of the KMTC board, Mr. Joseah K. Cheruiyot, explained that expanding the Shianda campus will not just benefit healthcare training. It will also help the local community economically by creating needs for accommodation and businesses. 

The CEO of KMTC, Dr. Kelly Oluoch, thanked Hon. Peter Salasya for starting the construction project. Dr. Oluoch encouraged local residents to apply for the March 2024 intake at the college. He also advised current students to stay focused, behave well, and avoid harmful substances.

"Make sure each and every day counts. Behave well and avoid harmful practices like indulging in drugs and substance abuse," he stated.
