Kenya to Partner with Moroccan Football Academy to Develop Talent

Kenya is looking to tap into Morocco's successful football development program by partnering with the Mohammed VI Football Academy.

During a visit to Mohammed VI football complex in Rabat, Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Ababu Namwamba expressed Kenya's keen interest in learning from Morocco's success in football.

Namwamba met with Moroccan Sports Minister Chakib Benmoussa to discuss the potential partnership. The CS noted "We are prepared to do things we have never done for us to achieve our ultimate goal of being a formidable sporting powerhouse in Africa and beyond.”

Morocco's national football team has had good performance in Africa and the world in recent years. It made history as the first African team to reach the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar 2022.

The Mohammed VI Academy has been critical to identifying and training top Moroccan players from an early age through its comprehensive development system.

Kenya hopes to emulate the academy's advanced coaching methods, sports science resources, and training structure.
