Supreme Court invites LSK to discuss Huduma Center Court Services Plan

The Supreme Court has written to the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) inviting them for a discussion over the setup of the Judiciary Desk at Huduma Centre. LSK had called for a boycott of services over the introduction of court services in Huduma Services

Supreme Letter to LSK on the Introduction of Court Services at Huduma Centre

The Office of the Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court of Kenya acknowledges receipt of correspondence from the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), Ref. C/24 dated 6th February, 2024 on the Petition to halt the rollout of Judiciary Desks at Huduma Centres pending further discussions between the Judiciary and the LSK.

In view of the proceedings pending before the High Court (Nairobi Const. Petition No E030 of 2024 & Nairobi Const. Petition No E032 of 2024), the six pilot Judiciary Desks at Huduma Centres do not form part of the e-filing services scheduled to be launched on 11th March, 2024 in spite of previous correspondence to this effect. The programme has also been revised accordingly.

In addition, to discuss the important issues affecting the administration of justice raised in your letter, the Honourable Chief Justice invites the LSK (National Office) to a meeting on 7th March 2024 at 2pm (Supreme Court Building, Chief Justice's Boardroom.

We also welcome and will facilitate structured quarterly meetings between the Judiciary Leadership Team and the LSK (National Office) and LSK Branch Leadership as a mechanism to assure continued constructive dialogue.
