If you are doing a diploma course in a TVET institution then 26,400 will go to the school bank account, and 13,600 will go to the student's bank account for both semesters. If you are not in a TVET institution then you need to clarify where you are studying.
The amount of loan that HELB awards to government sponsored students in University is between ksh. 40,000 and 60,000. The loans is disbursed in two batches. In the first semester you will receive ksh. 20,000 or 30,000 and in the second you will receive the remaining half. Of the ksh. 20,000 0r 30,000 allocated for the first semester and second semester, Ksh. 4,000 will be deposited directly to you school fees account and the remaining ksh. 16,000 or 24,000 will be deposited into your personal account. Therefore, per academic year you will receive your disbursement less ksh. 8,000 which will be part of your school fees.
