TVET institutions comprises of National Polytechnics, National Technical Trainer College, Special Needs Training Institutes, Institutes of Science and Technology, and TTI/TVC.

Criteria for selection and admission into KMTC is as follows;Academic qualification: If a course has 100 vacancies and 200 students have applied for the course. Only the best 100 hundred (in terms of grades ranking) will be considered.Disability: If there is only one vacancy for the course and two students of the same grade have applied. Then the one with disability will be considered.
