Elections are regularly held in Kenya because;

  • It is a constitutional requirement that they are held after every five years.
  • Give citizens chance to exercise the democratic rights
  • Gives Kenyan citizen chance to choose leaders of their choice
  • Helps in generating new ides by offering alternative ways of running the government through different party manifestos.
  • To keep leaders on toes and ensure they address issues affecting people e.g insecurity, corruption, unemployment , poverty etc.
