If you plan to visit Kenya or you have got a job in Kenya, then all you need to know is that the cost of living varies depending on factors like the city (Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, etc), lifestyles, and personal preferences. However, compared to European countries, Kenya is considered to have a lower cost of living.

  • The rent per month for a good two-bedroom house is between Ksh. 20,000 to 30,000 depending on the estate and proximity to town.
  • A breakfast meal in a hotel will cost you Ksh. 200
  • A lunch and supper meal will cost you Ksh. 500.
  • Price of petrol is Kenya shillings 180 per litre
NOTE: Prices of  good do vary from time to time

In general, the cost of living in Kenya is affected depending on your needs.
